NEW CONSTRUCTION homes have changed greatly
over the years and have influenced the redesign of existing and older
homes.

Today's
homes are much larger than homes of yesteryear. They are more luxurious
with features that were once only seen in homes built for the upper class.
An endless array of upgraded features are readily available to meet the public's
demand. Design books, television shows, websites, classes, and workshops
are constantly being offered to feed the ever-increasing demand for the
homeowners' desire to enhance their homes, yards, and living environment in
general.
While the
desire for an upgraded lifestyle has become the American standard, the vastness
of our country offers an endless array of design and architectural inspiration.
Differing climates and vernaculars and differing cultural and social settings
provide limitless options for expressing creativity and unique design.
Depending
on what part of the country you live in, certain features and amenities are
almost expected or are deemed the standard as part of the house and lawn
package. For example, because of the warmer to tropical climates in
southern states, in-ground pools are typical in many areas. In opposition
to that, many northern homes have basements because the house foundation must be
built below the frost line, thus providing the opportunity to easily transition
to valuable added basement and living space.
